Obituary

Wyatt D. Hatcher, 24, Mooresville, NC and Valley City, ND passed away at his home in NC on November 11, 2021.  A celebration of Wyatt's life will be held in the WE Osmon Fieldhouse (The Bubble) on VCSU campus at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 4, 2021.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, on the 4 th .  The service will be live-streamed then archived and available to view along with his obituary at www.lerudschuldt.com .  Lerud Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City is assisting Wyatt's family with arrangements.

Wyatt Dalton Hatcher was born April 9, 1997 in Valley City to Faron and Laurie (Larson) Hatcher.  He went to school in Oriska, ND from kindergarten until transferring to Valley City half way through 5 th grade.  In 2015, he graduated from Valley City High School.  He received awards for top auto and welding and was able to go to national competition in Kentucky for automotive.

His hard work payed off and he was accepted into UTI (Universal Technical Institute) in California.  After a year of training, he wanted to further his education and signed up for the NASCAR program through UTI in North Carolina.  He scored top honors and was top of his class.

He applied at Penske Racing and was hired…his dream job!  In 2018, he decided to sign up for the Marine Reserves, another job he loved.  At the time of his death, he was still working with Penske and a member of the Marine Reserves.

Wyatt was one of the most caring, loving, considerate, non-selfish people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting.  These are traits he had his entire life.  He would give up everything he owned to help a person out.  Wyatt may have been small in stature, but his heart was big enough to care for each person unconditionally.  He had various "families" and loved them all…the blood relations, the F3 crew, his friends, his fellow Marines, and everyone at Penske…

He will be forever missed, especially by his parents, Faron and Laurie; his sister, Casey Hatcher; his very special nephew, Thor Olson; his grandparents, Daryl & Rosie Larson and Mavis Stearns; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
