Wendy (Bauer) Kunze 53, of West Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on May 8 th , 2021 at Sanford Health in Fargo, with family by her side. Wendy battled for her life after enduring a massive heart attack back in February and did not give up that battle until God called her home. Her funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Friday May 14, 2021 at our Saviors Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service. Wendy Lee Bauer was born on January 17 th , 1968 in Ashley, ND to Don and Sandy (Werre) Bauer. She grew up in Valley City, ND where she graduated from high school. Wendy went on to attend both VCSU and IBC.

Wendy began her career working at Dr. Duane Brown's office in Valley City before she and Jeff moved to Fargo and made their home with their daughter, Amanda. In Fargo she worked for Merit Care in the neurology department for 15 years before making a career change and taking a job with the State of ND in the child support department where she has been employed for the past 11 years up until the time of her death. Wendy and Jeff started a life together in 1987 and were later married on August 4, 2005.

Wendy enjoyed reading, playing bingo, her animals, and doing yardwork. She was selfless and hardworking and passionate about loving her grandchildren. All that knew her admired her strengths in all aspects of mind, body, and soul.

Wendy leaves behind her husband, Jeff; daughter Amanda (Ken Bjorndahl); beloved grandchildren, Lexi, Blake, Emery, and Layne. She is survived by her parents, Don and Sandy Bauer; brother Kyle Bauer; sisters Kelly Bauer and Melissa Bitz; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and dear friends.

Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father-in-law, and a few of her fur babies. Wendy will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens cemetery.

Lerud Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City is assisting Wendy's family with arrangements.
