Steven C. Klotzbach, 76, Valley City, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on September 15, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Valley City at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 20. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 11:00 AM Friday. The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with his obituary on his tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well. He will be laid to rest following military honors in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City.
Steven was born March 9, 1948 in Guttenberg, Iowa to Robert and Lavonne Klotzbach. Steven attended MarMac High School in McGregor, Iowa Where he graduated in 1966. After graduating Steven enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent 23 years serving our country. While stationed in Marquette, Michigan, Steven met the love of his life Barbara Brady. They went on to Marry April 1, 1970. Steven and Barb were Blessed with three Daughters. Steven went on to retire in 1991 while serving at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. After retirement, Steven went on to work many odd jobs always wanting to keep busy and help others. When not working, Steven enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. Over the years, Steven became known as "Papa Fix It". There wasn't a toy that Papa couldn't fix.
Steven is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara Klotzbach; a brother Pete (Sue) Klotzbach of Waunakee,WI; a sister Jo Hunter of Albuquerque , NM; daughters Teri (LeRoy)Boyer of Kinde, MI, Kathy Smith (David Hitchcock), Tracy (Tina) Travis and Morgan Collison, all Valley City, ND; his grandchildren, Nyshelle (Will) Hardman, Trent Johnson, Kayla (Ethan) Nolte, Bradley Johnson, Brighton Smith, Cameron Smith, Sadie Johnson and Gio Collison; his Great-Grandchildren whom he loved dearly; and his special friends.
Steven is Preceded in death by his Parents Robert and Lavonne Klotzbach,a Brother-in-law James Hunter and beloved Family Pet, Stormy.
