Obituary

A charismatic, fun loving young man left us too early. Shane Fitz-Patrick Callahan, age 27, of Valley City, North Dakota joined our heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

Shane Fitz-Patrick Callahan was born April 16, 1990 in Fargo, North Dakota to Mike and Kelly Callahan. He lived in Valley City and was baptized and confirmed at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. He attended school in Valley City and graduated from Valley City High School in 2009.

Shane was a very talented entrepreneur, artist and carpenter, who started his own business called, "Handyman Callahan."  He created and designed many custom pieces showing his endless artistic abilities.  His creative works are loved and treasured by many family members and friends.  He loved dirt biking, hunting, wrestling, baseball, water sports, skateboarding, snowboarding, tennis, golf, frisbee golf and caring for animals. Shane enjoyed spending his summers relaxing at his grandparent's lake cabin in Minnesota.  He especially loved spending quality time with his family, friends, nephews, and his cat, Ginger.  Shane's ability to love and hug was priceless to all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Kelly Callahan of Valley City; two sisters, Jenny (Jerad) Enger of Fargo and Kaylee  (Christopher) Callahan Ng of California; maternal grandparents, William "Doc" and Marion Magee of Valley City, paternal grandmother, Joanne Callahan of Florida;  uncles and aunts, Sean (Jeanie) Magee of Sioux Falls, Mitch (Shelly) Meurer of Ohio, Daryl (Kathy) Walerius of Ohio, Mark (Laurie) Callahan of Florida, Tim Callahan of Florida: nephews, Connor and Kellan Ng of California; cousins, Jessie and Justin (Taylor) Magee of Fargo, Bryan (Shaunna) Edwards Ohio, Josh (Becca) Meurer of Ohio,  Jake Meurer of Ohio, Danielle, Nicole, Joey and Jimmy (Rachel) Walerius all of Ohio, Dylan, Laine, Annie and Sam Callahan, Casey and Christopher Callahan all of Florida; and  Ginger (Shane's cat)

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George "Bud" Callahan and aunt, Jan Callahan.
