Ruth R. Monson, age 96 of Valley City died Wednesday July 8, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday July 13, 2015 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City with Msgr Dennis Skonseng celebrant. Visitation will be from 5PM until 7PM Sunday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Ruth R. Yanish was born at Oriska, ND on Oct. 25, 1918. She married Edward C. Monson Oct. 9, 1943 at Valley City, ND. Mr. Monson died Dec. 17, 1997 and she has continued to make her home in Valley City since that time. Ruth is survived by a daughter Beverly (Robert) Loken and a son Richard (Karen) Monson both of Valley City; 2 granddaughters, Amy Loken in North Carolina and Erin (Nick) Schneider, Fargo, ND; and 3 great grandchildren: Elnora, Henry, and William. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.
