Peter D. (Pete) Kinslow

January 17, 1966 to June 8, 2016

Peter Kinslow, age 50 of Valley City died June 8, 2016 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Monday June 13, 2016 at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery at Valley City. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Pete was born at Mercy hospital in Valley City, North Dakota, to Clyde M. Kinslow and Hjordis M. (Johnson, Kinslow) Campbell. He grew up in Valley City and attended school in Valley City, graduating from Valley City High School in 1985.

Pete worked for Leever's Super Valu for over 25 years. He enjoyed bowling, football (Go Vikings!), NASCAR racing, and baseball.

Pete is survived by his parents, Clyde M. Kinslow of Nevada, and Hjordis (Jo) M. Campbell of Valley City, ND. His sisters Pat (Don) Malec, Edie (Randy) Johnson, Deb (Jim) Hegdahl all of Valley City ND, Rachel (Rory) McLeod of Montana.  His brothers Clyde L. (Audrey) Kinslow of Nevada, Logan Kinslow of Bismarck, ND, and John Kinslow of Valley City, ND. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Pete in death is his brother Allen Kinslow, his sister Mary Holsen, and his grandparents.

Pete Kinslow was born during the blizzard of 1966. He didn't get to go home until three weeks later, when the roads were plowed.

Pete was a good and kind person. He was a great friend. Pete lived the words "fearless & independent". He was the most independent person we knew. If Pete felt he could accomplish a task, he did it. He rarely asked anyone for help.

Pete lost his eyesight to a hereditary disease in his twenties. Pete walked to work every day, he walked everywhere he went. Rarely did anyone see Pete in a car going for a ride. When Pete lost his eye site he refused to carry a white cane! He said, "the cane was for blind people, and besides he explained I still had side vision". Pete was fearless!

Pete loved bowling, football (Go Vikings!), NASCAR racing, and baseball.

Pete's family would like you to join them for a celebration of Pete's life. Please meet at the VFW Club after burial at the cemetery.
