Patricia "Patty" Hovland, 62, Valley City, ND passed away at her home on July 9, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 15 in the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel. She will be buried next to her son in Carterville, Illinois.

Patricia Lynn Bailey was born October 9, 1956 to John and Marguerite (Mason) Bailey in Herrin, Illinois.

Patty had two sons, Jamie Dean and John Raymond. On July 14, 2011 she married the love of her life, Tom Hovland. They made their home in Valley City, ND. She was a wonderful cook and shared those talents for many years while cooking at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.

Family was very important to Patty. She is survived by her husband; son, John R. Patrick; grandchildren, Amanda Patrick and Jamie Patrick, and Tyler (Katie) Inman; great grandchildren, Zoey Patrick and Baylor Inman; daughter-in-law, Jody (Steve) Pfaff; sisters, Irene Grady, Voge Bailey, June (Ray) Byers, Audrey (Bob) Brown, Gina Bailey; brothers, John Patterson, Curtis Moeller; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Tom and Alice Etzel, Scott and Peggy Sandvik, and Marie Odegard.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jamie Dean Patrick; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
