Patricia Gruman, age 79, of Valley City, ND, died Sunday, June 21st at her residence. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 25th at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday morning. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Fingal, ND. Patricia Ann Gruman, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Kunze) Gruman, was born March 18, 1936 in Valley City, ND. Patricia grew up and attended school in Cuba, ND and later finished her education in Valley City. After receiving her education, Patricia began working as a nurse's aide at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. Patricia worked at Mercy Hospital for 44 years and also worked for two years at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City before her retirement in 2000. Patty enjoyed her family and friends. She looked forward to visiting with her coffee friends at the Rudolph Square. Patricia is survived by her siblings, Jerome (Marlene) Gruman, Valley City, ND, Philip Gruman, Cuba, ND, Janet (Pete) Garcea, San Jose, CA and Pauline (Eddie) Mclaren, Poholo, HI; several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Anthony Gruman, sisters Delores Stroh and Joan Olson.
