Mindy Erickson, age 44, of Tower City, ND, died Saturday, December 8th at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15th at First Church of the Nazarene in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour before the memorial service all at First Church of the Nazarene. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the church. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.
Mindy was born on March 27, 1974 to Dan and Marlys (Jensen) Hannig in Valley City, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Oriska where she kept her mom on her toes! Mindy was a friend to everyone. Once she met you, she was your friend for life. Mindy graduated from Oriska High School in 1992. During her education, she was active in basketball, cheerleading, track, and band. She also enjoyed playing softball during the summer. Mindy married Chad Erickson on July 1, 1995 in Tower City, ND. She worked numerous jobs in the area until her employment with Arthur Companies in Page, ND. Mindy, along with Chad's, greatest accomplishments were their children, Jase (13) and Trygg (7). She also enjoyed her cats and dogs and shopping for new cars.
Mindy is survived by her husband Chad, sons Jase and Trygg, parents Marlys and Daniel Hannig, Oriska. Sisters, Stacey (Brad) Thomsen, Thompson, ND, Heidi (Al) Lindemann, Surprise, AZ, Emily (Shane) Stephenson, Helena, MT, Katie (Roger) Potts, LaMoure, ND. Brother, Darin (Jenna) Hannig, Oriska, ND. One sister in law, Meridee (Pat) Stowman, Tower City, ND, two brother in laws Chris Erickson, Tower City, ND, and Shawn Erickson, Luverne, ND. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Myrtle and Hjalmer Jensen and Paul and Marcella Hannig.
