Mary Kringlie, age 86 of Moorhead, MN and formerly of Valley City died Oct. 19, 2015 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo. Private family services will be conducted with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Valley City, ND. Mary May "Gamma" Nicoli was born May 14, 1929 at Valley City, ND the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Koehn) Nicoli. She attended school in Valley City, graduating in 1947. On Feb. 14, 1948 she married Jack Kringlie at Moorhead, MN. They were married for 50 years until Jack's passing in 1998. They raised three children, Ross, Bruce, and Mary, all born in Valley City. Jack and Mary moved to Fargo in 1955 and later moved to West Fargo in 1964. Mary started working for JC Penny Co in 1960 and then Herbst Dept. Store where she was the personnel manager. She retired in 1976 and the couple bought a small farm at Christine, ND, where Mary continued teaching ceramic classes and gardening. They returned to Valley City in 1988 and began many years of woodworking projects. Mary also loved to crochet. In 1998 she moved back to the Fargo area and was able to live independently up until the time of her death. Nothing was more important to her than family. She was affectionately known by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as "Gamma". She loved playing bridge, pinochle, and cribbage; and would play any game with her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons: Dr. Ross (Lorri) Kringlie, Bozeman, MT, Bruce (Peggy) Kringlie, Fargo, ND and a daughter Mary (Don) Hager, Norman, OK; grandchildren: Kelly Kringlie, Ryan (Stephanie) Kringlie, Kari (Chris) Wehri, Mary Alyssa (Dustin) Hamburg, Tessa Hager, Jacob (Cat) Hager, Beth Kringlie (William Kushner), Rebecca (Greg) Diemer, Jennifer (Todd) Pederson, Jessica (Jon) Stites, and Jamie (Kasey) Kringlie; and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, parents, 2 sisters, and a brother. She will be missed but "we will talk about that later".
