The funeral mass for Mark B. Ertelt, 63, Valley City, ND, will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2018 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Oriska. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00, in the church.

Mark Bradley Ertelt, 63, of Valley City, ND, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 20, 2018.

Mark Bradley Ertelt was born at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on March 10, 1955 to John and Margaret (Schulz) Ertelt. Mark grew up helping farm on the family farm NW of Valley City and attended Noltimier Consolidated School, St. Catherine School, Valley City High School and graduated from Oriska High School in 1973. After graduation Mark moved to Spokane, WA where he worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman. Returning to ND he worked in maintenance at Tri-State Mobile Homes and at Burlington Northern Railroad in Eastern ND. While back in ND he owned and operated a limo service which he would still occasionally break out for-family weddings. Mark then made the move to Phoenix, AZ to work as an independent commodities broker and also managed a horse boarding stable in North Phoenix. The next move for Mark would be to Visalia, CA where he started a trucking company known as the famous "KING FARMS" which led him and his brother Steven to design and manufacture silage hauling trailers. Moving to MN Mark continued operating his trucking company. Recently Mark took his trucking company to Western, ND and Eastern, MT where he started hauling fracking sand in the oil fields.

Mark was active in various political activities throughout his life. He enjoyed collecting firearms and target shooting. He was a member of the NRA.  Mark loved vehicle restoration, especially his 1985 W900 Kenworth, which he had completely rebuilt and restored.

He is survived by his son John Joseph Ertelt (JJ), Cindy Nelson, brothers John (Susan), Steven (Joan), sister-in-law Joan Ertelt & sister Cheryl (Ralph) Chase, along with several nieces & nephews.

Mark is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas and Jerome; and great nephew Nick Bailey.

The entertainment and laughter of the King will be missed by all!
