Marilyn Stanley, age 81, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died July 14th at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 31st at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Friday morning. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery. Marilyn Tullius, the daughter of Jack and Eve (Fletcher) Tullius, was born May 8, 1934 in Valley City, ND. She was baptized, confirmed and graduated from St. Catherine's Catholic School in Valley City. Marilyn married Russell Stanley on May 8, 1952 in Valley City. She worked various jobs. In 1984, she opened and managed the first video rental store until it was sold in 1990. She then went to work for the Abused Persons Outreach Center as a Certified Victim Advocate. She also worked at the Nearly Nu Store until ill health forced her to retire. Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Dave) Kennedy, Buffalo, WY and Diane Sayler, Jamestown, ND; two sons, Darin (Kelly) Stanley, Thief River Falls, WI and Darcy (Helen) Stanley, Fargo, ND; one sister, Dorothy (Ian) Mckenze, Northridge, CA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
