Margaret Piatz, age 55, of Sanborn, ND, died Saturday, August 20 ^th at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family under Hospice of Red River Valley Care.  A private family service will be held on Tuesday, August 23 ^rd at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Sanborn, ND.

Margaret Ann Butts, the daughter of Leon and Beverly (Ironheart) Butts, was born October 14, 1966 in Devils Lake, ND.  She married Clayton DuBois and had three children together: LeeAnne, Leon and Chayton.  Margaret worked at Spirit Lake Casino for many years before obtaining her CDL and worked as a truck driver.  Driving truck was her passion and livelihood.  Her other passions included gardening, yard work, keeping house, cooking and spending time with her family.  Margaret's greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.  Margaret was united in marriage with Eric Piatz on December 28th, 2018.  They spent 10 wonderful years together.

Margaret is survived by her husband Eric, Sanborn, ND; her parents Marshall and Beverly French Valley City, ND, brother Jesse (Molly) Butts of Devils Lake, ND, sisters Katie Borge of Valley City, ND and Angela (Lamar Robinson) McGuire of Tower City, ND; her children LeeAnne DuBois of Pleasanton, TX, Leon (Mallory) DuBois of Devils Lake, ND, Chayton DuBois of Devils Lake, ND, Jake Piatz of Dazey, ND, and Spencer Piatz of Sanborn, ND; her grandchildren, Peyton and Brenton Nelson of Pleasanton, TX and Tatum DuBois of Devils Lake, ND along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Leon Butts, grandparents Silvia and Lavern Butts and Silas and Margaret Ironheart, Aunt Carol Brown, and several other family members.
