Margaret Heise, 91, Valley City, ND passed away at SMP Health St. Raphael on February 1, 2026. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley City at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 7. She will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery later this spring. The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with her obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well. Traditions Funeral Services in Valley City is assisting the Heise family with arrangements.
Margaret Mae Heise was born March 12, 1934, in Valley City, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Maine) Scully. She graduated from Valley City High School.
November 16, 1953, she married Lloyd Heise. They farmed near Kathryn, ND. She worked at the ARC Thrift Store in Valley City.
Margaret was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved being a part of the quilters group, participating in Bible study, and working with the WELCA.
She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, and attending VCSU Basketball games. Margaret was honored with the Mrs. Eagles Award while belonging to the Eagles Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Hastings Homemakers and the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by her children, Karen (Randy) Ladbury of Valley City, Mark (Mavis) Heise of Mapleton, ND and Jay (Suzy) Heise of Valley City; grandchildren, Teri (Carter), Travis (Nika), Jared, Ashley (Shane), Justin (Keri), Jordan, Sara (Jordan), Krista (Cody); great grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Evalynn, Xavier, Emmalee, Soli, Olivia, Alice, Ben, Kennedy, Myri, Lyra, Jaina; other family, Judy Manley, Alice Scully, Curt, Emma Mae, Harvey, Rosemary; special family members, Sandy Fee, Scott Engler, Nissa Crandall, Jess, Aaron, Paxton, Cambry, Koldon, Ryson Franke, Joslyn Kaseman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; son, Ken; daughter, Jill; grandson, Shaun; granddaughter-in-law, Janelle; parents, Joseph and Mildred Scully; siblings, Art, Lois, Pat, Loretta, and Gene.
