Margaret Jane Geldersma was born in Hastings Michigan.  She was raised and educated in Michigan.

In 1959, she married Ted Basner and had 8 children.  In 1979, they settled in Valley City, North Dakota to raise their family.

Margaret passed away Sunday in Fargo after a short illness.  She is survived 5 daughters and 2 sons, Laura (Robert) Egan, Robin (Clinton) Akers, Daniel (Sally) Basner, Ted Jr (Mindy), Karen Basner, Shawn (Tony) Pieczko and Patricia (Chad) Jansen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted and daughter Marjourie.
