Obituary

Lucille (Lucy) Dosch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, friend to so many, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Tuesday, October 20. Lucy was born in Emmons County, ND, on June 8, 1932. She graduated from St. Mary's Central High School in Bismarck in 1952. Lucy grew up on the family farm near Strasburg, ND and loved to be outside working with the horses. This is a love she carried through her life with her love of gardening and yardwork. Growing up, she had a deep family attachment to Holy Trinity (Krassna) Catholic Church where she learned to play the organ so she could be the organist at Mass. Lucy was a cook and hostess extraordinaire. She had the gift of beautiful hospitality she graciously shared with all. Lucy enjoyed deep friendships, a love of playing cards and attending local basketball games. She was a woman of deep faith with an immense love for her church. Lucy and Jake celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2015. She is survived by her husband, her children Susan Olson (Dean), Henry, SD, Laura Nygard (Todd), Williston, ND, Sandra Fearing (Mitch), Williston, ND, Robert Dosch (Karen), Grand Forks, ND, Jerald Dosch (Dixie), Saint Paul, MN, her grandchildren Christopher, Rachel, Stuart, Mollie, Vance, Marcus, Mallory, Benjamin, Emily, Wesley, Katherine, Lauren, Ian, Aidan, Ava and Lucy, her brothers and sisters Loretta, Vivian, Ray, Nina, and Joy. She was preceded in death by her parents Katherina and John Braun, her brothers Alvin and Wilfred and her sisters Florence and Alicia. Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine's Church on Friday October 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at St. Catherine's Church from 5PM until 6:45PM. Prayer service will be held at St. Catherine's on Thursday at 7 pm. Rosary will be prayed at 6:45 for those who wish to join the family. Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Valley City immediately after the funeral. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to a scholarship fund to be established by the family or Catholic HeaIth Initiative Health at Home, Valley City (hospice).
