Lois G. Hanson, 93, Valley City, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on April 16, 2022.  Her funeral service will be held at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel, Valley City, at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2022.  There will be a time of visitation the hour prior to the service.  Fellowship after the service will be at the New Life Assembly of God Church.  Burial will be in the Standing Rock Cemetery, Ft. Lois Geneva McCloud was born April 3, 1929 to Lester and Leona (Vierkandt) McCloud at Elliott, ND.  She was the valedictorian in her graduating class in 1947.

On June 15, 1947, she married Marlyn Hanson in Ft. Ransom, ND.  They made their home and farmed together near Litchville, ND.  Lois milked cows for many years and worked side by side with Marlyn until they moved to Valley City, ND.  Marlyn passed away in 1984.  Lois continued helping on the farm for a number of years.

She was a good cook and was always ready to lend a hand.  Lois was very active in the VFW Auxiliary at both the local and district levels, holding the president's office.  She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Sheyenne Valley Garden Club.  Lois belonged to the Standing Rock Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.

Lois is survived by her children, Constance (Wayne) Horsager, Mary (Jon) Koeplin, and George Hanson; grandchildren, Aimee, Renee, Jenna, Bret, Lori, Tammi, and Jaime; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Lloyd.
