Lois Piculell Brier passed away December 15, 2024 at the age of 105.  Lois lived her entire life in Valley City, the past number of years as a resident of SMP Health – St. Raphael (Sheyenne Care Center).

Lois received her education from the Valley City Public Schools and Valley City State University.  She married Howard Brier in 1948.  They owned the Rudolph Hotel and Howard's Steakhouse in Valley City for many years.  Lois volunteered with various Civic and Veterans Organizations, the North Dakota Winter Show, and the Barnes County Museum.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Chauncy and Olivia Neil Piculell, stepmother Edna Baker Piculell, brother William Piculell, sister Olive Piculell Hanstead, husband Howard W. Brier, and daughter-in-law Sandy Skolness Brier.

Left to cherish Lois' full life are son Shane and his sons Roman (Kathy) and Patrick.  Son Kirby, his son Tanner (Mika), daughter Lenen (Bill) Hoofnagle, and son Ryal (Theresa).  Great grand children Ki and Anika Brier, Kembry Hoofnagle, Layton, Cadence, Sadie and Kallen Brier.  Sister-in-law Cory Piculell and former daughter-in-law Cathy Duewel also survive.

A sincere thanks to the entire staff of the SMP – Health St. Raphael for the exceptional care given to Lois during her time spent with them.

The family will host friends at a celebration of Lois' life Saturday, May 24th 2-4pm at the Bridges Bar and Grill Restaurant. 264 Winter Show Road SW, Valley City.
