Linda Lerud, age 71, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, February 6th at her residence in Valley City. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 12th at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City with Reverend Jolene Knudson-Hanse officiating. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.

Linda Grace Lukins, the daughter of Elmer and Inga (Sherve) Lukins, was born July 8, 1944 McVille, ND. Linda grew up and attended school in Aneta, ND. On February 20, 1965, she married Ronald Lerud. Linda graduated from Wahpeton School of Science. After receiving her education, Linda worked as a nurse for many years at Mercy Hospital and for 25+ years at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. Linda was involved with the Eagles Auxiliary and did volunteer work.

Linda is survived by her children, Robert (Brenda Tompt) Lerud, Valley City, ND, Timothy (Rita) Lerud, Tower City, ND and Lara (David) Mairs, Valley City, ND; one brother, Roy (Alyce) Matson; grandchildren, Randi (Matt) Buttke, Jessica Tompt, Alicia (Timothy) Ziemba, Dylan Lerud, Kiana Lerud and Jenna Mairs; one great grandchild, Christian Buttke.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Norris Matson, Laurence Matson, Carl Matson, James Lukins and her sister Helen Hale.
