Oct 7, 1959 — Nov 3, 2019
John H. Willson, 60, Wimbledon, ND passed away at the Cooperstown Medical Center in Cooperstown, ND on Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was under hospice care at the time. The funeral service for John will be on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, ND at 2:00PM.
John Henry Willson was born October 7, 1959 to Merrill and Beverly (Aune) Willson. He grew up farming and was a graduate of North Central of Barnes High School. One of the things John enjoyed most about farming was making hay. He liked being outdoors and being on the move.
On December 31, 1982, he married Sheila Anderson, they made their home near Leal, ND.
In 1998, he went to work in Jamestown, ND. He spent some time at UBC and then finished his career as a driver for Aggregate Industries. John was voted by the local contractors to be the "Best Ready Mix Driver in Town."
Besides his love of the farm, John enjoyed riding motorcycle. When his health didn't allow for that anymore, he took to driving a side by side. The thing he cherished most were his grandchildren and the time he was able to spend with them.
He will be buried in the Leal Cemetery. John was the vice president of the cemetery from 1984-1986 and president until 2017.
John is survived by his wife, Sheila; children, Kurt (Cassandra), Keith, Kari, and Kyle; grandchildren, Jaron, Jaxon, Jayden, Aiden, Ashton, Bodi and Olyvia; his mother, Bev; brothers, Robert and Jerry (Mary Jean); sisters, Barb (Kim) Halloway and Judy Dauer; a sister-in-law, Shirley Willson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Diane; brother, Jack; brother-in-law, Dick Dauer; and sister-in-law, Kay Willson.
