A memorial service for John W. Freadhoff, 87, Valley City, ND will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning an hour prior to the service at the church. He will be buried in the Rosehill Cemetery, LaMoure, ND. John died at the Sheyenne Care Center on June 17, 2018.

John William Freadhoff was born June 24, 1930 to Karl and Mabel (Montgomery) Freadhoff in LaMoure, ND. He attended and graduated from school in Nortonville, ND. On November 25, 1955, John married Evelyn Joy Larson in Aberdeen, SD. They raised two sons: John William Jr. and Scott Brian. Evelyn died November 17, 1986. John married Marlys Waagen on February 11, 1994.

Through the years John worked as a farmer/rancher and a mechanic in and around LaMoure, ND. He also worked at Cavendish Farms in Jamestown, ND for many years. He retired in 2015 at the age of 85. John loved his registered Appaloosa horses and his Airedale Terriers; all of which were named "Duke". He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Valley City, ND.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; his first wife, Evelyn; and a brother-in-law, Jim Cecil.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Marlys; his two sons, John Jr., Fargo, ND and Scott, Selah, WA; sister, Lorraine Cecil, Bemidji, MN; brother, Karl (Kristee) Freadhoff, Jr., Judson, ND; step-children, Jerry (Mary) Waagen, Jamestown, ND; Julie (Bruce) Moritz; Cindy Waagen, both of Valley City, ND; Marcy (Rick) Miller, Beulah, ND; step-grandchildren, Tyrel (Bailey Giles) Waagen, Douglas, MA; Trevor Waagen, Grand Forks, ND; Logan, Paige, and Marissa Miller, Beulah, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
