Jodi Anderson Poehls, 51, Valley City, ND, died at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND on Friday, April 21, 2017. A memorial service for her will be 10:30 AM, Monday, May 1, 2017 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City. Visitation will begin the hour prior to the service. Jodi touched many people during her lifetime. She continues to do so, having been an organ donor. Her gifts have changed the lives of four different recipients.
Jodi Beth Anderson was born April 5, 1966 in Valley City, ND to Dale and Janice (Borstad) Anderson. She grew up in Valley City where she graduated from high school in 1984. On December 23, 1989, she married Jim Poehls. They made their home in Valley City where they were still residing at the time of her death.
She was involved in an auto accident in 1984 that left her paralyzed. This did not slow her down, she fought many challenges in her life and nothing stopped her from persuing her dreams. She had an unstoppable passion for her art, life, and her dogs.
Jodi worked at the Nearly-Nu store for many years. She also volunteered for many charities including Faith in Action and was currently a board member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She had a beautiful smile for everyone she met and was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Jodi will be missed by many.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Jim Poehls; mother, Jan Anderson; brother, Tim Anderson; sister, Sue (Gene) Nagle; nieces and nephews, Jake, Angie, Cameron and Lindsay; great nieces and nephews, Breanna, Dawson, Selena, Mason, and Roland; her mother-in-law, Cheryl Poehls; sister-in-law, Beth Poehls and her children, Jake, Angie, Nichole, Danielle; brother-in-law, Richard Poehls; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Dale; and her father-in-law, Dave Poehls.
