Janiece "Jan" Williams, 68, of Valley City, ND died at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on January 16, 2017.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Jan was born September 3, 1948, in Valley City, ND.  She grew up on the family farm in rural Barnes County where she grew up and attended school.  Jan attended business college in Denver, CO and later lived in Malibu, CA.  While living in Fairfax, VA she met and married Ted Williams.  The couple divorced and she returned to Valley City where she lived with her mother Mary Duncan.  After Mary passed away in 2012, Jan moved to the Rudolph Square.  Jan loved horses, fishing, bird watching and crocheting.  She also collected horses and eagle statues.
Jan is survived by her siblings; Charles Zaun, Front Royal, VA, Sue (Jerry) Erdmann, McIntosh, MN, Les (Kathleen) Zaun, Valley City, ND; a step-sister, Barbara (Delmer) Gann; step-brother, James Kohn; and a half-sister, Lisa Burr; niece, Tara (Tom) Glandt, and their children, Kinslee, Collins, and Kenna Sue; a nephew, Douglas Embrey; nieces, Lenora Stoner, Jean Magee, Juanita (Artie) Mitchell, Jennifer Bennett-Zaun and Maddie Bennett-Zaun.
Jan was preceded in death by her father, Fred Zaun; her mother and step-father, Mary and Harvey Duncan; a step-sister, Nora May; a step-brother Thomas Kohn; and a niece, Paula Erdmann.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals in Jan's name.
