Gary Bakke, 69, Valley City, ND died Saturday April 11th, 2015 at University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday, April 17th at Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City, ND The funeral service will be 2p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City. Gary Lee Bakke, son of Melvin and Eleanor Bakke was born March 20th, 1946 in Sharon, ND. Gary was united in marriage with Beth Mahlke of Wimbledon, ND on Nov. 19th, 1971 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Wimbledon. They lived in Valley City where Gary was a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and friends pursuing his very favorite past time- Fishing. Over time he acquired some pretty good bragging rights he was happy to share with all of us. He didn't always share those favorite fishing spots with everyone. He enjoyed visiting with friends over a cup of coffee, watching his beloved Chicago Bears, Boston Red Sox, and spending time with his cats. Gary is survived by his wife Beth, 4 brothers Kenny, Blair, Bradley(Rita), Brian(Darnelle) 5 sisters Paulette(Richard), Sandy(Albert), Charlene(Richard), Susan(Clay), Jeanne(Boyd) many nieces and nephews and Special aunt & uncle Betty and Larry Mahlke. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Melvin & Eleanor, brother Keith, nephew Brandon, In-laws Art & Helen Mahlke.
