Frederick Gruman, age 77, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, October 30 ^th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 5 ^th at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4 ^th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday Evening at the church.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.

Frederick John Gruman, the son of Alfred and Agnes (Morth) Gruman, was born October 6, 1944 in Valley City, ND.  Frederick grew up on the family farm near Fingal, ND where he attended school.  After receiving his education, he began farming with his uncle Richard Gruman.  On November 9, 1973 he married Rosalie Miller in Jesse, ND.  The couple then farmed together near Fingal all of their life where they raised their family.  Frederick loved to collect toy tractors, a good auction sale and always had a smile and time for a good visit.  Frederick was a member of the Fingal Wildlife Club, was a member of the Valley City Rural Fire Department Board and served on the Peak Elevator Board

Frederick is survived by his wife Rosalie, Valley City, ND; two children, Cindy (Jeff) Thoreson, Fingal, ND and James (Amanda) Gruman, Valley City, ND; three grandchildren, Jacob Thoreson, Caitlyn Thoreson and Joe Gruman; two brothers, David (Donna) Gruman, Fingal, ND and Robert (Mary) Gruman, Enderlin, ND.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents.
