Dorothy Stevens, age 70, of Valley City, ND, died Thursday, May 27 th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 4 th at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3 rd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the church. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery.
Dorothy Jean Seidlinger was born May 1, 1951, in Jamestown ND, the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy Seidlinger. She grew up and attended school in Wimbledon ND. She married Ron L. Stevens on April 27, 1984 in Giles County, Tennessee where they made their home until they moved to North Dakota in 2000. She worked various jobs and retired as an Environmental Service staff at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, where she also enjoyed visiting with patients and staff. Dorothy enjoyed baking and was famous for her caramel rolls and crab salad, which she was always shared with family and friends. She enjoyed receiving cards and pictures of her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Dorothy was an avid dog lover and spent the last few years caring for Simba, Sasha and Pepper.
She is survived by her two sons, Darrell (Gina) Neva Tennessee, and Daniel (Taryn) Neva Alberta; Brother James (Liza) Seidlinger North Dakota; Sister Jean (Harold) Ust Arizona; Grandchildren Brett (Jenna) Chunn, Jessica Neva, Kolbe, Teagan, and Noelle Neva; Great-grandchildren Kaylynn and Paislee Chunn; many nieces and nephews; special friends Shirley Ahner, Jamestown, ND; Pat Corf, Valley City, ND; and Kathy Dietrich, Valley City ND. A special thanks to Kim, Cody, and Wyatt Seidlinger, Oriska, ND.
She is preceded in death by her Husband Ron, Son Douglas, Step-Daughter Sarah, Parents Elmer and Dorothy, Brother Jerry, and Sister Patricia.
