Donna Jean Walker, 80, Valley City, ND, formerly of Tower City, ND, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND on November 14, 2025. A memorial service will be held in the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2025. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest in the Fargo National Veteran's Cemetery.  The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with her obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com.  An online guestbook is available there as well.

Donna was born September 18, 1945, in Elk River, MN to James and Adelia (Standish) Roy and grew up in Arthide, MN.  She graduated from Willow River High School in Willow River, MN in 1963.

On July 4, 1964, Donna met Allen E. Walker of Bruno, MN.  After just a short 6-week courtship, they knew it was true love. So, on August 28, 1964, they married.  From that moment on, their life together was full of love, traveling together and raising their four children along the way.  They had celebrated 61 years together.

Donna and Allen made the Navy then the Coast Guard their life. While Allen was deployed Donna took care of their four children, helping them to adjust to the many moves they made over the years. Donna lived in the Philippines with Allen before coming back in 1967. She took pride in living up to the standards expected of an Officer's wife when Allen became an Officer in the Coast Guard. They made their home in Tower City, ND after Allen's final retirement.

She had many hobbies over the years. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, cross-stitching, embroidery, wood burning, gardening and cooking. Just to name a few. She also loved shopping online, surfing the internet and visiting with family and friends on Facebook. Anyone that was her "friend", looked forward to reading her posts and especially her replies. Donna may have been a little lady, but she did everything she put her mind to; especially if she was told she couldn't.

Whether she was busying herself on her iPad or watching an antique show, she always lent an ear to listen, and a hug for support.  She loved fiercely and you never questioned it. Donna was a caring wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be missed more than words can describe.

Finally, you're no longer in pain. Now you can rest in peace, Mom. We will always love you.

Honorary pallbearers are her 15 grandchildren.

Survived by her husband Allen, her children: Greg Walker (Tawnya Walker), Deneen Castle, Patsy Hanson (Kevin Hanson) and Noelani Gordy (Chad Gordy), 15 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her sister, Betty Cottrell and parents, Adelia and Jim Roy.
