Donald Gruman, age 74, of Valley City, ND, died Friday, December 10 ^th at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 16 ^th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal, ND. Visitation will be held two hours before the service at the church on Thursday afternoon.  Inurnment will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Donald John Gruman was born July 25, 1947 in Valley City, ND to John and Mary (Windish) Gruman. He attended Fingal High School and graduated in 1965.  Donny served in the United States Army from March 13, 1967 to March 13, 1969 with one year in Vietnam.  While serving, he received two Purple Hearts.  He married Kathleen Baumgartner on September 19, 1970 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Oriska, ND.  Donny farmed his entire life. He enjoyed his four-wheeler, taking care of his yard, and going for his afternoon drive.  Most of all, he loved God, his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Donny is survived by his wife, Kathleen. Daughters Dawn (Scott) Dieterle; Brenna, Taryn, Jadyn, and Jack. Kim (Kevin) Eggermont; Jordan, Jared, and Brooke. Deb (Casey) Burchill; Hunter, Calahan, Katie, and Brock. Kristi (Corey) Hovelson; Carson, Courtney, Clay, Carly, and Cole. Patti (Peter) Jewett; Maxton, Alison, Bristol, and Benjamin. A son, Richard (Kallie); Adelaide. A sister, Jackie Monson, a brother-in-law, Donny Steidl, and an aunt, Liz Johnson.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, John and Mary, and a sister, Rita Steidl.
