Diane Hill, 66, Valley City, ND battled ovarian cancer for over 3 years.  She passed away at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City on December 13, 2017.  A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley City on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 6:00-7:00 and a prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Diane Fae Starr was born August 8, 1951 to Willard and Nellie Starr.  She was born in Rollette, ND and was raised on a farm near Bisbee, ND.  In 1969, she graduated from Bisbee High School then attended Devils Lake Jr. College for two years.

She married John Hill in May 1973, and also graduated from VCSU that spring.  She worked two years in Rapid City, SD before moving back to Valley City to work at Empire Home Furnishings.  Diane then took a position at VCSU where she worked 32 years at the student center and in the housing department.  She enjoyed following the students in sports at VCSU.

Diane was an avid reader, loved to work in her flower gardens, sewing, playing golf, fishing and boating.

Diane is survived by her husband, John and their son, Phillip as well as three sisters, Sue (Jim) Eggl, Sharon (Otto) Nelson, and Sheila Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a sister.
