The family of Danny Leon Johnson/Goecke, age 74, of Valley City, ND is deeply saddened to announce his passing on October 26, 2026 at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND. A Celebration of Danny’s Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 5th at Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday one hour before the service at the funeral home. An online guestbook and livestream of Danny’s service will be available at www.lerudmathias.com. Traditions Funeral Services of Valley City has been entrusted with Danny’s funeral arrangements.

Danny Leon Johnson, the son of James and Betty (Olson) Johnson, was born on April 26, 1952 in Bemidji, MN where he grew. After graduating from St. Benedictine School of Nursing, he went on to touch many people’s lives with his long nursing career. He lived a full and remarkable life. He loved his home, family, music, the arts, gardening and antiquing. The antiques he collected can be seen all over his home and cabin.

Danny is survived by his spouse Scott Johnson/Goecke; his sisters, Lovell, Laurel, Dena and Julie; his brothers, Lonny, David, Mark and Matt; his nieces and nephews and many friends.
