Charlin Kay Wigen passed away at her home in Valley City, ND on September 15, 2021 at the age of 58. A celebration of her life will be held at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home chapel on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM. Visitation will begin at the chapel at 5:00. Military honors will be done prior to the service starting and she will be laid to rest at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
Charlin was born January 29, 1963 in Hettinger, ND but grew up in Valley City, ND. She attended school there and was a graduate with the class of 1981. She was confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Charlin joined the ND National Guard following graduation and served 8 years. During her service time, she was named an expert marksman.
Her working days were spent as a direct support professional at the Open Door Center in Valley City. She was also a caregiver for her dad, Keith. Her family started with the birth of her sons, Dixon and Allan. She married Brad Wigen and they welcomed a daughter, Katiann. Her family was complete when her daughter, Chloe was born. Charlin liked to cook and spend time with her family and friends.
Charlin is survived by her daughters, Katiann Wigen and Chloe Hatten; son, Dixon Twamley; grandchildren, Maddix, Jayden and Alec Twamley; mother, Kathy (Don) Burke; brother, Charles Herzog, Jr; sisters, Carmen (Chad) Warne and Janie (Al) Larson; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; her uncle, Luddy Schmidt; cousin, Roland Schmidt; and her life long best friends, Brenda, Melissa, and Maddy Kamstra.
She was preceded in death by her son, Allan Twamley; father, Keith Bakke; grandparents, Melvin and Eleanor Bakke and Gertrude and John Schmidt; and uncle, Henry Schmidt.
