Charles Dean Peterson
April 19, 1962 – May 10, 2026
A Graveside Service for Charles “Chuck” Dean Peterson, 64, Minot, ND, will be on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City, ND. He passed away on May 10, 2026, at the Trinity Health Hospital in Minot.
Charles Dean Peterson, the son of Thomas Oliver Peterson and Helen Mae (Burchill) Peterson, both formerly of Valley City, was born April 19, 1962, in Rolla, ND, and grew up in Minot. Charles had been previously married and was blessed with two daughters and six grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed spending time with his friends. One of his favorite hobbies and a side job was being a vender at the Dakota Flee Market in Minot. He was always looking for a good deal. Charles had a sarcastic sense of humor and a lot of bad dad jokes, but he loved to talk to people and get to know them. Though he was not a wealthy person, his life was enriched with kindness and compassion for others. He would go out of his way to help others, even if it was just a joke to get a smile and make their day a little better.
Charles is survived by his daughter Lisa Marie Weigel of Kintyre, ND, Tyler Weigel, son-in-law, and his grandchildren Gabriel, Vincent, Addison, and Maci Weigel. His daughter Shellie (Pfannes) Lankford of Linton, ND, Chris Lankford, son-in-law, and grandsons Bentley and Tucker Pfannes.
Charles is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, Tim Peterson, Ogden, UT, Gail Swanson, Breckenridge, MN, Robert Peterson, Lakeside, CA, Debra Peterson, San Diego, CA, Jeffrey Peterson, San Diego, CA, and John Peterson, Canon City, CO, and several nephews and nieces.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, and by one brother, Joel Thomas Peterson.
