Carol Burgess Stensgard, age 80, of Nome, ND died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, November 21, 2016 under the care of her loving husband, Arthur O. Stensgard.

Carol Burgess was born in Dacusville, South Carolina January 15, 1936. She attended school in that area and then worked there for a time before moving to Birmingham, Alabama. While in Birmingham she met and married Arthur on May 28, 1965. Together, they retired and moved to North Dakota in 1985.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, a brother, a sister, and her daughter, Susan. She is survived by her husband, Arthur, a brother, her daughter Brenda (Mark) Evenson, 4 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, and other extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Lerud-Schuldt-Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City with Pastor Dave Montecuello presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Valley City, ND.
