Bruce Alan Lovell, 60, of Sanborn, ND died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sanborn. Pastor Mark Haines of will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Sanborn. Visitation will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sanborn on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00.

Bruce was born August 26, 1957 in Valley City, ND. He was the son of Norman and Laura May (Woodbury) Lovell. Bruce grew up and attended school in Sanborn.

On April 22, 1994, he married Loretta Dean in Las Vegas, NV.

He worked with his dad and brothers in the family potato business. In August of 1998, he began working for the Barnes County Highway Department and in 2011, he started with the ND Department of Transportation. Bruce continued working there until his health forced him to retire.

Bruce was a man of all trades from working on his hot rod, tinkering in the shop, to carpentry and plumbing.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughter, Sharla Johnson; grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson and Travis Johnson; a great granddaughter, Kianna Leann Krall; son, Tim (Brenda) Dean (Jana Altringer, Kristy Jo Miller, and Jacob Fillbrandt); sisters, Vicky Lovell and Estee (Kevin) Clyde; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cindy Lovell and Debbie Tessman; and brothers, Gary, Dexter, and Terry Lovell.
