Bethany Ferguson-Carr, age 40 of Jamestown, ND formerly of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, July 5th at her residence in Jamestown, ND.  A celebration of Bethany's life will be held on October 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  in the conference room at the Grand Stay Hotel at 721, Winter Show Road, Valley City, ND. Bethany Joy Ferguson Carr went to sleep on the evening of July 5, 2023 and dreamt herself into the arms of God. She made her surprise entrance to this life with us, James and Mary Beth Ferguson, plus two brothers, Aaron and Chuck, on October 22,1982, in Casper Wyoming. While we had already been blessed with two wonderful sons, we decided not to "try" for a girl. Little did we know she was already on her way.   Bethany was a total blessing to our lives from the very start. She and her brother Aaron, became inseparable and celebrated their birthdays exactly one week apart with  two years between them. Chuck happily filled the role as her protective older brother.  Bethany had a somewhat unusual idea concerning birthdays... anybody'ms birthday. If she knew about it, and it didn't look like anyone was going to do something for them, she made a point to celebrate it with them in some way.  She made a huge deal out of Bromley and Ethan's birthdays every year. She was full of magic and it poured out for her children.   Bethany started school at the age of four when she began the Headstart Program in Trenton, ND. She continued there through grade four.   At that time, the family, (with the exception of Chuck who graduated ), relocated to Fairview, Oklahoma where her father had begun a new business. She made many new friends and began collecting more and more pets. She learned to become very independent and resourceful. Both Aaron and Beth went on to finish high school in Fairview. At that time she moved to her Aunt and Uncle's home in  South Dakota, to help care for her beloved grandmother, Ruth Patch where she remained until Ruth passed away.  Bethany then returned to Oklahoma where she encountered her favorite role thus far and became an Aunt when both of her brothers had sons.   During this part of her life, she decided to enter the workforce until she could pursue her degree in Hotel, Motel management. She started working at Arby's only to soon become an area manager. She then decided to try her hand at an auto body shop and ended up running the entire operation including ordering parts and payroll!  At that time, she took a vacation to see her mother who was teaching in Grenora, ND. There, she met her future husband, Randall Carr. They soon married which opened the door to her truest reason for living.... their two sons, James Bromley followed by Ethan Randall two years later.

As time passed, she developed  some health challenges. Her sons remained her greatest love and reason for living.

She is survived by her two sons, James and Ethan, their father Randall Carr, brothers Aaron and Charles, and mother, Mary Beth Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Mary Elizabeth Ferguson, her maternal grandparents, Charles and Ruth Patch, and her father, James Ferguson.
