Annie May Martin was born June 1, 1928 in Stirum, ND to John and Nellie (DeBoer) Martin. She completed grade school and high school in Stirum then attended Valley City State Teachers College. Annie taught in a one room school before marrying LeRoy "Bud" Pfeifer. They were married, August 26, 1947 in Valley City, ND. The couple farmed in the area for a couple of years before settling in Valley City where they raised 5 children.
Ann had a long career at St. Catherine's School. For several years, she managed the cafeteria and then finished in the school office. She loved her time at St. Kate's, punching the hot lunch tickets of a couple generations of kids.
She loved to crochet, gifting countless afghans and doilies, touching the lives of many. She will be missed!
Annie Pfeifer died in Fargo, ND on November 20, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy; a great grandson, James; her daughter-in-law, LeeAnn; and her brother, Leonard.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Sharon) Pfeifer, Lois (Gary) Ames, Marlin (Camie) Pfeifer, Steve (Kris) Pfeifer, and Lynette (Shane Schock) Wavra; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Carol; and a brother, Floyd.
