Wendell Horne, age 67 of Camdenton, Missouri died Saturday April 7, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Tuesday April 10, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Dan Forsberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Oriska Cemetery at Oriska, ND. Wendell was born July 30, 1944 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of O. D. and Viola Horne. He was united in marriage to Judy Darlene Trader, (daughter of Al and Jean Trader of Valley City, ND) on August 28, 1965 in Biloxi, MS. Together they shared 46 years of marriage.

Wendell is survived by his loving wife Judy, one daughter Wendy Ackerman(Donny), two sons Johnny Horne (Donna) and Jason Horne (Glenda). He has seven grandchildren: Alexis, Nicholas, Madison, and Samantha Horne, Zachery, Hannah, and Adam Ackerman. One brother Freddie (Sharon) Horne and one sister Linda Gayle (Jimmy) Hogue. Wendell served with the Air Force for 33 years stationed in Biloxi, MS: Shreveport, LA: Grand Forks, ND: and Fairbanks, AK. In the Air Force, Wendell worked 4 years of active duty, 8 years of reserve duty, and 21 years with civilian service personnel. Wendel met Judy in the Air Force in Biloxi, MS. He enjoyed spending time and talking to his children and grandchildren. He loved to go to garage sales, fishing, auctions, and playing cards. He will be remembered by family and friends for his concern for others and a great desire to help those in need.
